The Build Haiti Foundation recognition wall is a platform used to honor individuals and organizations that have gone above and beyond to support BHF’s mission. Donations with a face value of at least $5,000 will get you or your organizations on the BHF Recognition Wall.
GLENELG Country School Involvement:
The Glenelg Country School in Howard County, Maryland sustained its commitment to complete the construction of the Build Haiti Foundation’s Mediatrice Medical Clinic in Camp Coq, Haiti. Through annual fundraising events the Glenelg Country School raised the necessary funds to help the Clinic become operational. The GCS community has embraced the Build Haiti Foundation’s Global Leadership Program and has provided students and an adult mentor to help this program to be successful in July 2015. The Build Haiti Foundation gratefully recognizes the Glenelg Country School community for its important role in supporting the BHF mission since the earthquake struck Haiti in January 12, 2010.
Glenelg Country School (GCS) is an affordable private 2 years old through grade 12 school located just outside Columbia in Ellicott City, Maryland. We are serious about creating an educational experience where excellence matters; where a balance of academics, arts, and athletics bring out your child’s best; where habits of service, leadership and friendship will last a lifetime; where the world is your child’s classroom.
GCS has been a partner of BHF from its founding. GCS has provided unrelenting support in several areas of needs. The Glenelg Got Talent, an annual fundraising event, is talent show where students come together to showcase their talent for a good cause. GCS also sponsors the Marie Mediatrice School in Haiti by providing school supplies and financial donations. GCS is also a partner school that feeds the BHF Global Leadership Program.
Common Goal with Columbia Association:
Columbia Association mission is to enhance the quality of life for people living and working in Columbia and to ensure that Columbia remains an open, integrated and caring community. CA is committed to providing quality service; striving for improvement and excellence; and being responsive to the needs, interests and priorities of the community.
Columbia Association values diversity and culture. To this end, CA was very opened to the idea of a sister city relationship between Columbia and Cap-Haitien, the second most important city in Haiti. BHF and CA are working feverishly to achieve this goal. They also work together to promote the Caribbean and Haitian culture in Columbia.
Healthcare Involvement by AKONNI Biosystems:
Infectious and genetic diseases remain one of nature’s deadliest mysteries. As a diagnostic solutions company, Akonni’s mission is to improve the human condition by enabling the personalized medicine revolution through faster, approachable and affordable molecular diagnostic tools.
BHF and Akonni have found synergy in their effort to eradicate diseases and improve healthcare in Haiti. We were in need of sponsors to help with cost of our GLP program and finance the cost of our projects. Akonni came to the rescue and made a generous donation to that end.
